Steve Mineck: Master Glass Blower and Artist

Hi, I'm Steve Mineck, a glass blower from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, now living in rural Vinton, Iowa. I'm one of the emerging glass artists in the state, and my passion for glass blowing ignited years ago at an art festival in Madison, Wisconsin. Over a decade ago, I decided to dedicate myself to glass blowing full-time.

Despite having limited formal education in glass blowing, I attended a two-week art program where I received instruction from University of Wisconsin art professor Jim Engbritsen. I further honed my skills at Kirkwood Community College’s Glass Art program for two semesters. Since there were no glass studios or experienced artists in Eastern Iowa, I self-educated by reading and observing. Financial constraints led me to design and build my own glass blowing shop and equipment.

With my shop completed, I now create stunning glass art pieces, expressing my unique vision. My works are proudly represented by Galleries across the Midwest.
